I worked at Rolls-Royce from 1967 to 1975 now Bentley motors cars as a secretary.

I achieved good typing and shorthand skills at school including RSA, ULCI and GSCEs certificates (nobody probably heard of now) - but took pride in my letters and most of all spelling in those days.

Then my two children were born so did not work again until 1989.

I then worked in a showhouse managed by Butters John Bee at week-ends and also odd mornings during the week on reception at the office on Nantwich Road.

From 1996 until now I have worked for Coppinger Boston as a Receptionist/Negotiator. I love doing this job and talking to members of the public, making appointments for them to view houses and follow up comments on their views of the property. It is nice when they appear back in the office years later asking for us to go back to them either because they want a bigger or smaller property, very rewarding to think they have come back to us - which proves that we are classed as one of the friendliest around, and judging by length of service of our members of staff we all enjoy what we are doing.

I am also fortunate to live locally so have a very good knowledge of the properties in the area and therefore give advice on local schools (dare I say it) pubs and shops, bus routes etc.
